We are sitting at the airport waiting for our flight to Fuzhou. This is the most important leg of our trip. It’s very overwhelming to think about. I could hardly sleep last night. I am so nervous to meet our little guy. I just hope he accepts us. I have such high hopes that things will go smoothly, but I know there will rough spots along the way. All I know is it is God’s hands. If we trust that we were brought here for a reason, then I know it will be ok.
This morning Angela took us on a rickshaw ride through the old courtyard homes. It was a very touristy thing to do, but a lot of fun, too. We stopped at a family’s home (along with 40 other tourists) and toured their home. A small door off of an alley way opens onto a courtyard. Rooms are arranged in a square around the courtyard. The buildings were built during the Ming dynasty. We sat in a room, had some tea, and heard from the owner of the building about its history. This family was selected as an “Olympic family” and their home was used to show how people lived…he said many newscasters came to visit as well as tourists that stayed in their home during the Olympics. There was a huge Phoenix tree planted there because the grandmother (many years ago) wanted a daughter after having sons. She was blessed with two! And, they had cages of birds and 2 cages with gigantic grasshoppers…one of whom was very

noisy. Here is a video clip of our harrowing ride and near collision with grandma in a wheelchair!
Then we went back to Angela’s, packed and went to the airport. We board in about one-half an hour.

Lisa,
I'll be praying for you and your son as you prepare to meet. I pray that your son has a smooth transition into your family. I am so excited for you and I can't wait to see pictures of your newest family member!
Lisa,
Congratulations!! We just came home August 28th with our dd from Fuzhou. We also had Katherine, she is incredible! Ask her if she remembers Ben and Sheri, and Leilah Di. (She has our link to our blog on hers!) Her dd's name is Kitty, she and our 8yo son had a great time!
Can't wait to see your Gotcha Day pics!
Sheri W. (Leilah Di's Mommy)
