A Night Out in Beijing.

Thursday Night, 9/18: Instead of resting like Angela suggested, we were ready to go out! So, we went to town to experience "snack street." First, we stopped and looked around the Olympics store...gotta love those mascots. Then we walked around the hustle and bustle of Beijing. There is a very fun street where no cars are allowed. Lots of shopping and people watching. Then, we were a little hungry so we had these for dinner (see below)...ya gotta try what the locals eat, right? Scorpions, sea horses, worms and roaches?? They were a little chewy....
Just kidding...we went to a little dumpling place and had yummy dumplings...I think mine had grass in it. They said it was local mountain vegetable. It looked like grass to me! That's what is great about our guide. She takes us to the non-touristy places. We get lots of strange looks, especially because we eat what they eat and do pretty well with our chopsticks if I do say so myself! What fun!
